Oather’s fugue

Rising snailine my

Depressed worth

Like a balloon burst;

Dearth love hath this troubling

Hatchless heart

Half-earthed, reluctantly art’d. Bubbling

Boiling over unwatched. Unaimed.

I fear imagined birthrights.

Snorting harsh saline

Drowning in marshy brine.

Her body was a grimoire writ

In gritty braille and fingernails

To read I willed myself blind

With imagination and agitated knife

I bled a Maginot line across lino tiles.
