Leaving society for love

Take me to manless leys whose lengths no other paced

No other sandal’s tattoo grace’d

Make my love as an explorer’s ship’s prow, proud and seeing out

Drinking unknown waves in ages ignorant to longitude.

No matter where I sail, boreas withershins me

Arriving to rare Ophir

Where rivers of clear, unsettling orpiment roar forth

Jewelfruited trees abound

Gold in great store adorns lonely, footless shores

No one is sure where.

Some say mind pens the lands, no antecedent without

Others sure Solomon visited, thin veil liminal world conveyed

Diamond mines abutting

Fluttering thereby lepidoptera immensly size’d; speckled pied anpiels

On busy boughs, bursting in a beholder’s spying orbs

Birds in glory more storied with towering plumes

Than the couple-coloured denizens of Mount Abora, which opium lures closer

Nothing rattles me, I pin to doublet my king’s brooch.
