Somewhere light ne’er tarried
Far in an enduring North
A thousand year storm
Violently gyring, jarring stained empyrean
Swirling animate inkspill
From which fizz trines of lightning
A dark plain blinking away
Harried glaciers reforming
In form like jewelled titans
By worldly orbs burdened.
There, residing frigid fissures
Gelid foundling, who swimming oxygen drowns
Guttering as a man might through mustard
Like an ice-firmed creature
Heroes would smite upon urns
Sculpted from dirt in earnest day.
A creature
Older than demons
Primaeval, evil supremely
Had creation seen, seething unseemly
Life from chance’s throne would unseat
Wresting away animating glamours
This dragon of Eden clamoured from Hades, vilely creeded
Secreting an adhesive ether, its howl that of a dire hyena
Accreting tortures ever sicker, putting torch to a wicker Athena
In the glassy dungeon of a diamond spider
‘Tis production’s most malevolent unguent, in function means of fracturing
Sending even at sleep, deepdreams which fashion a man in madman’s rags
Controlling in this fashion, mind by mind, all humanity.
Sleeping below, an Undine fire-guised
Heat clothes cowing fatal ice encasing
Dissipates upon its quaking waking
Second whom Satan unkneeling afears.
Unseen save by dreamers oneireyed
Feigning sleep blithely
Features barely discerned
Interned below a mirrored earth
Coiled like a worm below a moving serviette
Strings briefing an empty wedding dress up the aisle
Leaves, winds, dreams
Things which purport to living
Compelled as statues, reposed stilly.
