Lost origin of hate

Malignant religion

Pregnant with ignorance

Lingering hatreds, ageold

Feuding blood fuelling wars.

Fuligin sky scorched undercoat, cloven surcoat

Liver, loving blood heretofore circuited

Outslithering blood ophidian

Sers fall cut, it is not a war where only peasants die

Bullets like plague unsparing, farmers and kings alike

A die cast from a God’s hand.

Obfuscation of hatred’s origin

Agamemnon’s daughter’s throat cut

Her frailty and maidenhead Poseidon’s

Tossed smeared with violence into the ocean

That goodly winds would ferry to Illium

Angered ranks, Greeks imagining gifts requiring no thanks.

Its seed and source lost somewhere

A great confusion, a greater slaughter

A chronology of muddled, worsening revenges

Hatreds whose origins are legend

Grand pageant, action for passion’s sake

Ashes in my mouth, cudding words forsaken

Armies marching out in pagan splendour.
